Family Entertainment Options In Las Vegas
Las Vegas has something for everyone. It may be known more notoriously for its nightlife which includes pubs, bars and casinos, but the fact is that there are loads of entertainment options for all family members to enjoy and make their time here worthwhile. This is a list of things that you can do in Las Vegas, with some information on where you can do those things:-
1. Of course you cannot go to Area 51 itself (or it wouldn’t be such a part of alien folklore, would it?) but you can certainly travel to a little hamlet known as Rachel that is the closest habitation to the Area 51. Taking the Extraterrestrial Highway (ooh!), you will have to travel for three hours northward from Las Vegas to reach Rachel. The kids will definitely be pleased with the experience. You can have a touristy experience at a small inn on the Old Mill Road while you tell the kids alien stories. All in all, a very unique kind of fun. You might meet ET on the way too!
2. The Grand Canyon of the Colorado River is just 250 miles away from Las Vegas. Several day trips are organized from Las Vegas hotels to the Canyon, or if you want, you can drive your family up to the Canyon. You will have to take the highway 93 from the south and move over from the Interstate highway 40 E onto the highway 64. You can easily spend a whole day checking out the Canyon; it is sprawled over 277 miles at least! The summer months are the best time to take your family along. And yes, a great bonus of the trip is that you get to travel over the awesome Hoover Dam.
3. Another major thrill for the people visiting Las Vegas is that they get to go on horseback tours with their families or even alone. They are several horseback tour operators that will take you out of the swank Las Vegas Strip where you might be housed in and take you on their horses to ranches in the near vicinities. You can spend a whole day at the ranch living a complete western life while you are there. Also look for the special horseback tours that operate within the Grand Canyon for a completely unforgettable experience.
These were just some of the family oriented things that you can do in Las Vegas. There are of course tons of other activities like golfing, visiting lion and shark reserves, visiting national parks or even having a buffet lunch with the family. Las Vegas is not just about nightlife; it is a complete entertainment destination.
